Baby News and Moving In

So I'm at a little over 35 weeks as of today. How exciting! I went to the Dr yesterday and he checked my cervix and said I was dialated to 1cm. Which isn't much but it's something right? He also said that I could wind up going a week early. Other than that he said everything looks good. I have a dr. apt. every week now until Stratton gets here which means I have to get a pelvic exam every week now too. : (

Earlier this week Mona and I went shopping and got Stratton a dresser and a changing table. My friend Sarah Robinson came over and helped me put the dresser together and Bill helped me with the changing table. Everything looks so cute and matching. Derek and my dad put the crib that Beth gave us together last night. It looks so great with all the bedding in it.

So this weekend (weather permitting) we are moving in EVERYTHING!
Couches, clothes, dishes, EVERYTHING!

I'm going to miss staying with Bill and Mona but it will be nice to have our own place. The worst part is that I'm going to have to start cooking again. :( Derek is REALLY going to hate that.
Mona and Bill have been SO great to us. We owe them BIG TIME.

Other than that nothing else big is going on.

If anyone would like to help we are moving everything on Saturday.

Moving In.....Well Sorta.

Slowly but surely Derek and I are getting things put into the new house. We had a small get together with one of my friends and her boyfriend and one of their friends they met at camp. It started out great. The boys got the DVD holder together AND a bookshelf. At that point they probably should have stopped because it was like 2 in the morning. BUT, of course boys are hard headed and HAD to put the third piece together. Bad idea. We now have the most haggard looking t.v. stand in Southeast Missouri. But it's going down stairs so like they say "out of sight out of mind." Right?

Here are some pics from that night.

The start of a LONG night. Derek and Alex getting ready to tackle the book shelf.

This is Lauren and Andy their friend they met at camp this summer. He's from London and stuck in the U.S. for now because the airline he bought his ticket through went bankrupt. So he's here till he can get another ticket.

The first piece of furniture DONE! Don't ask why but they wanted to show the back of it because that's were most of the work went into it. Haha. Boys.

Second Project, The DVD shelf and a very messy living room.

Andy kept saying that this project was like war. You have the british kid yelling out directions and the american guys do all the work. And that's pretty much all he did all night was tell them what to do.

35 Weeks Pregnant and ready to go to bed.

The large trash pile that was left in our planter on our porch. We took out the planter and this was what was left over. There was even a turtle shell in there. Yuck.

Starting on the 3rd project that shouldn't have even been touched. This was taken at floor level because I was sleeping on the floor at this point. Needless to say I was sore when I woke up at 4:30 to go home!!!!

Our cute upstairs bathroom. The only room in the house that is pretty much done. It's really all I could do since there's no heavy lifting involved in this room. I think it tured out ok.

School, House, and MORE BABIES!

So, Derek and I started school this week. Yes you heard right Derek and I BOTH started school this week. Derek has decided that making cabinets is not what he wants to do with the rest of his life. He is taking a University Studies class as well as an English class. So far he really likes it. I'm taking only one online class since I'm going to be down for a week or two right in the middle of the semester. I was originally signed up for a Political Systems class but that was dropped like a bad habit and I quickly picked up Children's Literature. I thought it was more appropriate. So, classes began Monday for the both of us. Derek has class for 3 hours on Monday night and for a little over an hour on Tuesday and Thursday night as well. I'm excited to see how Derek does this semester.

We closed on the house this week as well. We closed Tuesday and got the keys and garage door opener that day. YAY! Derek has already started doing little projects around the house. It's so cute. Haha. Saturday Derek and one of his friends are going to rip up the carpets in the basement and replace them. They are also going to take out a play groud that's in the back yard. It's pretty run down and we figure it's more of a danger than a play-thing. Hopefully we will start moving things in this weekend after the carpets get put in. I can't wait. Hooray for being pregnant and "not being able to help." Just kidding. I get to boss people around and tell them where to put stuff.

Another one of my friends from high school had their baby this week! JessiYarbro had a little boy on Monday of this week by c-section. Here he is. He was born 8-25-08 a 8:46 pm and weighed 6lbs 12oz and was 20 inches long! His name is Kaiden Jack Cracraft.

Updates!

So Derek and I FINALLY have a closing date set in stone for our house. We are going in on Tuesday the 19th to get everything signed and all that good stuff.

We've decided that we are going to replace the carpeting that is in the house with some new carpet since there are a few spots that need to be replaced anyway. Derek and his friend Nate are going to do the job. Tuesday Derek is going to rip up the carpet and sometime during the week the two of them will put down the carpets. This means long nights and no sleep for Derek. Haha.

After the carpets are put down we get to start moving everything in. YAY!

We don't have much to move in since we went from a two bedroom apt to a 4 bedroom house. So we are saving up for stuff to fill it. God knows Stratton's room is going to be full. That kid has EVERYTHING! Haha. Thanks to his awesome family. I can't wait to start putting his room together. We are doing a jungle theme in his room. He's going to have big leaves and animals and all kinds of jungley stuff in there. I hope he likes it. I have a few years till he can verbalize if he does or not. :)

As for the little guy he is doing well. I've been having Braxon Hicks the last 4-5 days which has worn me out and made me really sore. I called the Dr about them because I had them constantly (not consistently though) for 2 days. He assured me that it was normal and just make sure I keep my feet up and drink LOTS of water. So the little guy is good. Yesterday I went in to the Doc and had the usual pee test, weight check, and blood pressure exam. Everything was fine. Just a little dehydrated.

I go back in two weeks to get checked for Step B. After that it's one visit a week until D day! YAY!

Everyone get excited!

Our First House!

Derek and I closed the other day on our first home. It's such a good feeling. We have our own house that we get to bring our little boy home from the hospital to. It on W. Jackson Blvd. right behind the Jr High. Here are some pictures of it. Minus the furniture in it. That's not ours. We are set to move into in around 2 weeks. So if anyone would like to help out please do. We need all the help we can get since I can't really move anything. Thanks so much.

We are going to be having a moving party as soon as we can get into the house. We either plan on getting a keg or a few cases of beer and grilling some burgers, brats, and hotdogs. Any help is much appreciated.

First Baby Shower and Grandma's 75th B-Day

So my first baby shower for Stratton and I was great! We had so much fun. We even made onsies. I'll put pics up as soon as I get some from Brenda. My cousins Eric and Allen even made a onsie. They turned out so cute. Each one is so different but SO cute. Thank you to everyone who helped out with it.

Grandma's B-Day party turned out so great. I didn't really know most of the people who were there but it was still really good to have all the family in one place. My cousin Beth and her husband Steve and their two girls Mady and Anna were there. My cousins Eric and Allen were there along with Eric's girlfriend Merideth. Of couse Casey and I were there also. That was the first time all 7 grandchildren and great-grandchildren were in one place at the same time in 7 years. Casey and my Auntie Pam tried making my grandma's famous Angel Food Cake but failed. It went flat. Haha. But it was the thought that counts right?

I'll put some pictures from both on here as soon as I get some.

Baby Showers

I'm having my baby showers this next month (August). I made the invites and I'm almost done addressing them and sending them out.

My first baby shower is going to be on August the 2nd at 10 in the morning and it's going be mostly family since my Aunt is throwing a party for my Grandma Marges 75 birthday.

My second baby shower is going to be for my friends and the rest of my family that couldn't make it to the first one. It is going to be on August 16th at 10 in the morning. Here is what some of the invites look like.

If you got something different for the 2nd don't feel bad. I ran out of patience and bought some. Sorry.
