I Heart Art

It's official...I've finally declared my major as a BFA (bachelor of Fine Arts). YAY!
I've been dreading doing it because it's going to be a lot of work and it's going to take forever but I'm going to do this for me. I have to. I have to graduate with the degree that I want.

Here is what I've been doodling lately on the computer in Illustrator.
It's not perfect and there are a bunch of layering issues I need to go back and fix
but here's the rough draft of mt "pinup sundress"
This makes me want to get Creative Suite 5 all the more.
I get a student discount but it's still like....$549. EEK!
I need it for the next couple of semesters so I'm going to save up and maybe get it with some of our tax money. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I know I did. Well, for the most part. Being sick really stinks but I got to spend time with family and friends.

Friday: Stratton and I met up with my friend Leslie and her son JD at Annie Laurie's Antiques. We looked around and I thought I would find SO many things that I would like to go in my house but I didn't. :( I'll be going back again to find something cute that's not too expensive. I was in love with all the jewelry but I was on a strict budget this weekend so it was a no go on the locket or the dinner ring I wanted. Oh well. Leslie's little boy found the cutest hat. It's a Davey Crockett hat that has a coon tail on the back of it. While walking from art show to art show he got complimented at least once every block. He is such a cutie anyway so throwing that on top just pushed his cute little butt over the edge.
We ate dinner at Buckners and had PIZZA! Which is Stratton's favorite. Saturday: Stratton got to spend the morning and some of the afternoon with Dale (Derek's Dad) and then at 4 I picked him up so we could go hang out with Leslie and JD again and make some t-shirts for the boys for the One Day Without Shoes that we are going to do TOMORROW!  Leslie made lasagna with corn and cookies for dessert. It was SO yummy! The boys played outside before dinner. Leslie had never sewn on a sewing machine before but she is a FAST learner! She did an awesome job on JD's shirt. Leslie's mom and sister Lauren stopped by to drop of Les's iron so we could do some of the iron-on letters and the boys played with Lauren (Aunt La La) as they call her. Stratton's girlfriend's name is Lauren but he calls her Mauren (More-En). We watched Tangled and had a great time getting to hang out and sew. It was such a great time and the boys actually got along really well. YAY! I can't wait to show off Stratton with bare feet tomorrow. I even got my toes done for tomorrow. I'll document my day for you all so you can see what it's like for me to go a whole day without shoes.
Gotta love the Tom's. These are JD's but Stratton will be getting a pair for Easter Shhh!
I'm thinking these. What do you think?
