Friday scratch that...Monday Confessions

I had a jam packed weekend this weekend and I was super busy on Friday so here is Friday Confessions on Monday!

I confess I love reading trashy romance novels. It must run in the family because I always remember my mom reading them when I was growing up.

I confess I feel asleep at my desk last week. Derek has been snoring at night and I can't sleep on the couch because the cat likes to sleep on my face. Last night I would have slept with the cat on my face because Derek was snoring SO loud.

I confess I love to follow random people who have blogs.

I confess I have been seriously thinking about the future lately and it makes me feel nauseous.

I confess when I get nervous I get sick to my stomach.

I confess I think I have the best cat in the world...even though he gives me hives when I touch him.

I confess I was going to take a 1 hour nap yesterday and it turned into a 3 hour nap. Whoops.

I confess sometimes I wish I would have gotten to go on a real honeymoon.

This is for all you muggles.

Don't take that as an insult. It's just what the geocaching world calls people who don't geocache. For those of you who don't know what geocaching is...this post is for you. I got this today from The Geocaching Website. Here is a powerpoint presentation of Geocaching! Thought it would be helpful for anyone who keeps up with my blog and is always wondering about geocaching. This describes it and all that comes along with it.
Enjoy!

Rants in my Pants

What did we do before the internet? Seriously. I have been wondering this all day. I mean, if I'm at the store and I want to make a cake from scratch but don't know what do buy, I open up safari on my phone, go to google, type in the cake recipe I want and *poof* there is...the recipe with ingredients that I need.

I'm wondering this because today I have looked up three different topics, two of which I plan on ranting about:

1. Facebook and why it is the devil
2. What to do if your 2 year old bites at the baby sitters but not at home
3. Topix and why it is also the devil

As I've mentioned before on here before...I hate facebook. Now don't get me wrong. I have a facebook account and I use it daily BUT I seriously HATE it. With a passion. I hate that it is such a waste of time and how obnoxious people are on their status updates. I hate that people misinterpret others statuses. I hate that people can use facebook as a bullying tool. I hate that people are on it ALL THE TIME even when you're trying to have a conversation with them. I especially hate that people have lost boyfriends, jobs and HUSBANDS due to the inner workings of this "social site" a.k.a. "festering pool of temptation." On some of the websites that I've seen or news articles that I've read they can use facebook to notify you that you have jury duty and it is considered a legal binding document! In another article a girl was killed by her boyfriend because she changed her relationship status from "in a relationship" to "single." Seriously, killed? Why? I remember when you had to be a college student and you had to go to a college that was supported by facebook to actually get onto facebook. Now everyone and their momma can be on facebook. (yes, my mom is on facebook too if you're wondering). But that's just the thing. What started out as something cool and private that you could share with just your friends has turned into this open book of your whole life for THE WHOLE WORLD TO SEE! I had to untag some of my pictures and delete notes and other posts from the past before I could accept my family members as friends. The worst part is those pictures are STILL floating out there of me and I can't do a dang thing about it. I'm not ashamed of them but I don't particularly want my grandma to see me drunk at a party.  I now have to censor what I say so I don't offend anyone or hurt anyone's feelings on top of everything else. So what if I choose not to "friend" someone or  "de-friend" someone? I AGAIN hurt someones feelings or piss someone off. It's ridiculous. If I defriend you on facebook does that automatically mean I don't want you as a friend in real life? No, I just don't want you to see everything that there is out there on facebook of me. I don't want you to see my kid, my husband my thoughts, WHERE I AM (that is a whole other topic that erks me. Stop checking in everywhere you go. Do you not understand that if people see that you're not home they will go rob your house? Look it up!). I just want you to know me for ME. I don't want you to know me by what I have posted or said on facebook. Every facebook page is a meticulously put together page of every person out there. For all I know you could have photoshopped every single one of your photos (which I know people who do that), named off random bands that are cool right now but you have no intention of ever listening to their music, and have never even picked up a book in your entire life. But, on facebook you are in love "said cool bands", you have a perfect skin complexion and you have read the entire library. It's FAKE...all FAKE. I'm tired of facebook. I'm going to go on a facebook hiatus for a little while. Next topic.

The four letter word of the day in our household is BITE!
Stratton once again bit another child at the baby sitters house. I seriously have no idea what to do. He never bites at home and even when we're around other kids he does really well at not losing his temper. I'm not sure if it is because the baby sitter is having a hard time watching all the kids at once (please do not get me wrong here. Our baby sitter has been a GOD SENT. She is amazing with the kids and has really taught Stratton a lot in the last 2 years). I just don't get it. He hasn't bit in a while and just yesterday he bit a little girl so hard that it almost broke the skin. Mrs Lisa obviously puts him in time out and disciplines him but she doesn't spank him. I'd like some opinions on this. How would you handle this kind of situation. In the past when he has bit and I've been around we would give him a smack on the butt and put him in a pretty long time out. Now that he's starting to hit more often we haven't been spanking him but using the timeout in longer durations and making sure we really sit down and talk to him. We have also been taking his toys away when he gets in trouble. This has been a huge one for him. He loves his monster trucks and the other night when he threw a fit I took away his monster truck and said he couldn't have it back until he acted better and acted like a "big boy." This really struck a nerve for him and he was way more upset than just sitting in time out. This seemed like a pretty big convincer for him because once I asked him if he was going to act like a big boy and get his truck back he straightened back out. I just don't know what to do about the baby sitters house. It's hard because I'm not there and I don't know what happened to make him want to bite. He gets his feeling hurt so easily and he's usually such a loving little boy. I think he's just hitting those terrible twos. Any advice is much appreciated. (and yes I've been looking on forums and other websites for advice on this one too)

Last and definitely least is Topix. For those of you who don't know what this website is. Good for you. You have saved thousands of your braincells from jumping off the big rocky cliff inside your brain to a nasty bloody death at the bottom. Topix is an open forum for anyone (and I mean anyone) to get on there and "state their opinion." I'm just going to throw this out there right off the bat and tell you my opinion on opinions...keep them to yourself! I understand that this forum could have potentially been something that could become somewhat of a helping tool or a way to voice your opinion on a certain topic important to the community. But, when you're putting trash out there about racism, people's personal lives, whether a teacher has a nice butt, who did what with your "baby momma" or "baby daddy", and all the stupid other crap that you have to spew out there...this is not a helpful tool. People get on there and get a complex. They have a security wall between them and whoever they want to talk slander about. You don't even have to use your real name on there! You can get on, write your trash about whoever or whatever, and then post it for the whole world to see. No harm no foul right? Wrong. Once that crap is on there...you can't take it down. There is no delete button, there is no back space to make it all go away. So that nasty remark about whoever that you wrote a couple of weeks ago will be there forever (or until they shut down that horrible waste of internet space.) Stay away from this site because there is nothing positive about it. Nothing but slander and name calling. I have nothing good to say about that website.

Zombie Prom 1985

Last weekend my sister convinced me to go to a 80's themed Zombie Prom. It was downtown at a place called Dock Side. I'm not going to lie...I had a blast! My sister, her boyfriend Marcus and I got ready at Casey's house and our friend Teresa came over and we did her make up there too. They had a photo booth set up so anyone who wanted to get their pictures taken could. Here's how they turned out.
My mom kept telling me I look more like an avatar than a zombie. Thanks mom. We got to dance to a bunch of great 80's music (is that really even possible? great 80's music? eh.) Our friend Nate was the emcee that night so we got to see him too. Here are a few more pictures from that night.
This is my sister getting ready for zombie prom. No lie, the texture on the right side of her face was done with elmers glue and toilet paper. It turned out AWESOME!
Gotta love the bushy bangs.
Are zombies cannibals? I mean like do zombies eat other zombies?
We look pretty sweet! My sister is the best at getting costumes for cheap. Total for both of our costumes: <$20!
This bad was really good. I'm not sure what their name is but the singer was really good and REALLY tiny. Like not a little person but just very petite. (and yes it was a guy) I wanted to put him in my pocket.
Casey, Teresa and Marcus. Stag is so bad even Zombies drink it.
Us girl zombies looking...well...dead of course.

Nate was trying to look scared. Way to just look confused there buddy. Haha.
Marcus, Casey and I getting ready to GO HOME! It was such a good time but I was ready to go home by the end of the night. I work my zombie pumps and my feet were killing me (haha get it, zombie pumps...killing me...anyway.) I had a really great time and I'm glad I got to hang out with my sister, Marcus and Teresa. We looked AWESOME!

Not gonna let Monday get me down

Since it's Monday (and I hate Mondays) I'm going to do a list of what is making my day better.

1. Waking up next to my snoring husband and having him give me a smack on the leg for my good morning wake up. (it was a love tap)

2. Groucho waking me up every 15 minuets to remind me that he has no food in his dish and that he needs food RIGHT NOW.

3. Waking up Stratton this morning and getting to snuggle with him for a little bit because as soon as he woke up he said "Mommy I'm cold. Snuggle." I love it.

4. Eating one of my bagel thins this morning. They're so good! They're like thick crackers.

5. Driving to work they played one of my favorite Michael Buble songs on the radio.

6. When I got to work my heat pad was already on and warm so I didn't have to freeze until it warmed up. It's really cold in our building so I use a heating pad to warm me up.

7. I finished almost all of my homework for my art class and it isn't due until Wednesday!

8. I get to leave work and go to class for a little bit to finish my homework and I don't have to do it at home tonight.

9. I have dinner ready to go when I get home tonight. No preparing  no cooking. Just sit and eat. My favorite!
Gotta love crock pots.

Friday...er....Sunday Confessions

I confess I love to snuggle with my cat and be lazy on weekends. (yes I've turned into a cat person...crap)

I confess that all day Saturday I thought it was Sunday. Literally I was panicking because it was Sunday and I didn't have my artwork done. Then I realized it was Saturday and almost cried. (ok I cried a little)

I confess I made the worst cookies EVER today. Seriously they were terrible. If I had a dog I didn't like I would feed them to it.

I confess I bought something from an "adult toy" party last week...I'm not going into detail here... (don't worry Grandma it's not what you're thinking)...and it WENT TO THE WRONG HOUSE!!!

I confess I have have slept more during the daytime the last two days that I have during the night.

I confess I think Mark Wahlberg is sexy.

Sometimes you just have to shop

The last couple days I have been a MESS. Seriously,I have been out of whack and have been a mean/moody/crying pile of hormones. It doesn't help that I'm stressed at work and school and at home. I can't get away from the stress. I get to work and I'm stressed. I go home and my house is a mess...so I'm even more stressed. Then I realize that I have a boat load of projects due next Wednesday for school and I get even more stressed. I needed a break from everything and nothing is better than going and burning a little plastic (if you know what I mean). My friend Lauren has been stressed too from her job as a teacher. We got together last night and spent some $$ at the mall. It was just what I needed. I got a few items on sale at hollister. Seriously, I got a cardigan ($45) and a long sleeve gray shirt ($35) for $24.  I felt pretty good that I got some good shirts for pretty cheap considering Hollister is SO expensive most of the time. I did splurge on my self last night though on one thing. I'm so proud of these things. Not only are they AWESOME but they even help get closer to crossing one more thing off my 101 in 1001. I got these!
I got them at journeys last night and it was seriously what put a huge smile on my face (since Stratton wasn't home this morning to do it first).  I know they are super gaudy and I love it. I know shopping isn't always the best thing to do when you're down and I know it doesn't fix why I'm stressed but it definitely brightened my day and I'm happy with my buy. Not to mention a few of my friends work at journey's and they gave me a free pair of ballet slipper socks with gel backing for FREE! I love my friends. They definitely make my life so much better. Thank you Lauren for assisting me with my retail therapy! Love you girl!

I finally did it...

I bought....

*drum roll please*

THE CITIKITTY
(via)
I'm not sure if any of you have seen this "as seen on TV" product. I know I haven't but my sisters friend Teresa got it for her little fur baby and she said it's been going pretty well for her. I'm a little worried just because Groucho is SUCH a big cat that the might miss or splatter before we actually get him to the litter free stage. It will be a lot of cleaning that's for sure. I'm just so tired of vacuuming up all the crystal litter out of our carpet down stairs and not to mention the last 3 times I've been to PetCo because of this lovely product they haven't had the trays that I need for it
I have been there three different times trying to get trys for this stupid "no scoop" kitty litter box.
It's horrible. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone. It was almost $50, the trays are another $15 every couple of weeks and on top of that you have to use the really expensive crystal kitty litter. It's a pain in the butt to say the least.

For the CitiKitty I got the flush-able kitty litter
  $14.99

and the CitiKitty starting kit
$29.99

All together with shipping and handling it was still less than what I spend the first month on the crappy no scoop litter box. I'm super excited about this and I really really hope it works out. I can't wait to see if he really does it and if he starts using the toilet. Ah!
I know I know. I'm a dork but I just can not stand all the blue and white kitty litter crystals all over my house.
It's NASTY!

Mondays...

I've been feeling like this everyday lately...

HELP!

Is there any natural remedies out there that anyone knows of for heartburn?
I have seriously been plagued with heartburn for the last 2 days non-stop and I can't get it to go away.
If anyone knows any good ideas please let me know.
