Does It Work Wednesday

Today I'm going to tell you about the obviously male invented item called Designer Liner by Eye Rock.
These little gems were in my BirchBox last month and I have been DYING to try them out. I had a few extra minuets in the bathroom last night so I decided to try these bad boys out. The directions tell you to make sure your eye is clean and oil free. I seriously had not a single speck of makeup on last night. I got some new makeup wipes that are AWESOME!
Next you're supposed to take the liner off of the backing. These things are stickers? Weird. Hope they don't hurt. I held my hand up so you could see just how huge these puppies are. They're gigantic. This is again why I say they must have been made by a male.
They advise to take the liners off with tweezers so your fingers oils don't hinder the stickiness of the backing on it.
Once you get them off with tweezers you hold them up to your eye and try you darnedest to size them up so that you can trim the excess off of them.

You're to cut off the excess size with a small pair of scissors. I kind of guessed that I cut it to size.
After I got it sized up on my eye, cut, and fitted on my eye I pressed it on. They tell you to leave your eye open when putting it on. I did...and all the wrinkles on my eye got all stuck together. When I closed my eye it hurt and pulled horribly.
After opening my eye again the inner part of the thing kept peeling up. I tried, and tried, and tried, and tried to get the stupid thing to stick down again to no avail.
Then came the excruciating pain of taking these horrible things off. It was like pulling off a bandwait on my eye! It was horrible.
I didn't even try to put the second one on. These things were horrible.
I give these Designer Eyeliners a big fat F!

I really really really wanted these to work. I really did. I tried hard to follow the directions perfectly and do everything exactly as it says. They sucked though. I watched 5-6 YouTube videos on these after I tried them and read LOTS of posts about them. As it seems, EVERYONE hated these things. Some people even had rashes on their eyelids from the adhesive on them. Glad I didn't leave them on or try to put the other one on as well.

Happy Hump Day everyone! Hope you all have a great day today. I may or may not have a post for you all tomorrow. Derek and I are going to St Louis for the night and I won't be back until tomorrow afternoon. We're going to go see Hank III. I can't wait! Have a good day everyone!

Stratton's Heart

Stratton is such a ham lately...and kind of a drama queen. Haha.

That being said, his newest thing to tell you when you make him mad is

"Mom, you break my heart!"

The first time he said this I seriously almost cried. He was so mad/upset that he had gotten in trouble that he said that to me! Let me tell you, I'm horrible when it comes to staying mad at Stratton. I hate seeing him cry or get upset. It breaks MY heart.

The other day Stratton and I ran to Country Mart to pick up a few groceries and he saw loose peanuts. (I'm going to go ahead and confess that I am one of those moms that will buy the little things for my kid even if he doesn't necessarily need it...like a 2lb bag of peanuts.)  I let him scoop the peanuts into the plastic bag (which he thought was AWESOME!) and then he carried them to the cashier. We paid for them and rode home. The entire trip home he held the peanuts in his lap and seriously could not wait to get home and eat them. We got home and I showed him how to crack the peanuts open.

Here is how Stratton opens the peanuts.

When I showed him how to crack them open for the first time he was laughing SO hard! It was adorable. He was laughing so hard he had tears in his eyes. He looked at me and said "Mom, this makes my heart happy." I started crying too. Haha.

It's little moments like those that I want to remember forever. He is growing up so fast and I can see that he is growing up to be such a neat little man. I am more and more proud of him everyday.

I'm back in the saddle again!

Now that I have that awesome Aerosmith song stuck in your head I'm ready to get back on here and start writing again. I have not been in the mood to blog lately. I have just been so busy with homework that every time I would sit down to write a post I would get distracted by the thoughts of me turning in a horrible homework assignment. This in return would make me quit blogging and start working on homework again. Ugh!!

So, I'm back now...for the time being at least. The semester isn't over but the huge assignment that I've been working on is halfway done. I'll share it with you all once I get it turned in and what not.

Anywho, Made Up Monday here we go. Last week I was on Sephora's website browsing for new makeup trends and new makeup talks when I got lucky enough to see that Kat Von D (my idol) was doing a live chat on Sephora's feed. I had to jump on and see if she would answer a question of mine. I got on and waited until is was open and was the 5th person to post a comment/question. Lucky me she answered my question!
It seriously made my week! I was so pumped that she answered my question. Of course I ran out and had to buy a good rounded shadow brush haha.

I got a good smudge brush for good measure too. I have been watching A LOT of makeup tutorials on youtube lately. I have to be honest with you though...I have found that the BEST teachers are.....

DRAG QUEENS!!!

Seriously! They are amazing at putting on makeup and they actually make it kind of fun to watch and learn from them. They have some great technique and also they have some tips and tricks that are seriously to die for. I'll let you judge for yourself. Here is my makeup for the day after watching a drag queen makeup tutorial.

I used shadows from Kat Von D's Ludwig Palette and Saint Palette. I also used my Sephora liquid eyeliner in Noir Black. Kat Von D's Autograph Pencil eyeliner in Puro Amor. My bottom lashes are coated in Maybelline One by One Volume Express mascara and top lashes are coated in Benefit's They're Real mascara.

What do you think about the double cat eye? Too much or too cool?
